It seemed like a nice day for a bike ride and I have to confess top not having cycled all week. My 15 year old stead is giving up the ghost. My neighbour is nuts about bikes and has been advising me on what to purchase next. It seems kinda extravagent, but I guess if it's fun to ride then I'll be smiling even more than ever...sweet.

it was a beautiful ride home that night. half of it on the bike, then a stop to change a flat tyre (first in about 6 months). then the valve-pin snapped, I called for the cavalry and Mrs theWeir & babyB came to pick up the noble steed and I. sun was still shining all the while!

so what kind of new bike are you going for then?

My GT Outpost has served me well for 15 years and I'll keep it for offroad riding. Great of my neighbour to give it a wee free service and tune up over the weekend...

Just ordered a new Giant Escape R1 which hopefully will be here within the week. Nothing to motivate bike riding more than a new bike. hoping it'll go like stink. Just need to attach the pannier rack and mudguards which will probably knock off some of the "cool factor", but make it more practical. I'm like a little kid awaiting Santa all over again...
